Who we are
The Pamela Mam Health Centre is a hub of holistic health service development, propa best practice, and shared learning building on Aunty Pamela Mam’s leadership and commitment to improving health for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
We’re a regional non-for-profit Community Controlled Health Service (CCHS) that empowers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to take responsibility for their health and wellbeing through the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health’s (IUIH) System of Care.
The Pamela Mam Health Centre has grown to deliver culturally safe, comprehensive primary health care, along with family health and wellbeing services to more 3,500 regular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
Our History
Operating from 13 Church Street, Goodna, and originally called the ‘Goodna Clinic,’ the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health has been operating a model of comprehensive primary health care from the clinic since 2014.
To accommodate demand for services, a second premises, now known as the ‘The Family Hub’ opened at 12 Queen Street, Goodna in 2018.
The clinic was renamed on 31 March 2025 in honour of our Patron, Aunty Pamela Mam. Building on the tradition of Aunty Pam, and our Elders who have led the way, the Pamela Mam Health Centre is a hub of holistic health service development, propa best practice and shared learning to advance our commitment to health and strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities.
An investment by the Australian Government provided the basis for a complete rebuild of the centre, which enables us to provide more services to more people in our community.
