On Thursday 17 July we celebrated NAIDOC Week with a BBQ lunch to honour this year’s theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.”

On a wonderful winters’ day, we gathered at the clinic to celebrate the achievements of the past and the bright future ahead. We were excited to see Mob from all generations come together to celebrate culture, past, present and future.

Our team were out in force and joined by our friends at Birthing in Our Community, Deadly Choices, Deadly Kindies, POWA and Staying Deadly

Stalls had people yarning and moving. BreastScreen Australia’s mobile screening van is based next to the clinic until September, with many Mob taking advantage of the free screenings available. Our public health team were also on hand to keep clients up to date with their flu shot.

“Thank you to all you deadly Mob who came out to join us,” said Loata Webber, the Practice Manager at the Pamela Mam Health Centre.

“We love an opportunity to connect as a community. It was wonderful to see Mob young and old, gathered from across the region to celebrate culture and 50 years of NAIDOC,” she added.

World Health Day: Celebrating Community Strength and Wellbeing
