What can we support you with?

Good eye health is an important part of health care for the whole family.

A optometrist with an Indigenous client, checking her eye health.

Our optometrists can support you with:

  • cataracts diagnosis and referral to surgery if needed
  • diabetic eye checks and referral to specialists if required
  • eye tests for all ages
  • getting the right prescription and organising glasses

Our services

The optometrist will yarn with you about your vision and carry out some simple tests such as:

  • eye health checks
  • vision and glasses checks

If you already wear glasses and use eye drops, bring them with you to your first appointment.

If you have diabetes, we may need to use eye drops during your test to get a clearer look. The eye drops might make your vision blurry for a few hours, so it is best not to drive for a few hours afterwards.

Remember to bring your sunglasses as your eyes will be sensitive to the light afterwards.

When should I see an optometrist?

We recommend all Mob have an eye check every three years from the age of five, or every year if you have diabetes.

If you have any worries with your eyes, like changes to your vision, headaches or sore eyes, sing out for an appointment.

Where to start?

If you have had your 715 Health Check at our clinic, ask your GP or clinic reception to book you in for an optometry appointment.

If you’re not a client of our clinic, contact your nearest clinic for a 715 Health Check and optometry appointment.

Please let our reception know if you require transport services.
